We’ll conduct a full evaluation to determine if remanufacturing your old housing is preferable to and more cost-efficient than the purchase of a new unit.
How it Works:
- The bearing housing is cleaned in preparation for inspection
- Qualified technicians inspect the housing for damage, excessive wear, and critical dimensions (per engineered drawing)
- Miether supplies a report detailing necessary costs and repairs (level 1 or 2, see below), and meets with customer to discuss upgrade options
Level 1 Remanufacturing
- Polish bore, seal grooves, and split planes
- Replace seals, repair threads and associated hardware connection points
- Blast and paint housing
- Provide options as determined
- Provide new engineering drawing
- Warranty is same as new: 1 year from purchase
Level 2 Remanufacturing
- Repair/rework bore, split planes, seal grooves, covers , threads and all associated hardware connection points
- Replace seals
- Blast and paint housing
- Provide options as determined
- Provide new engineering drawing
- Warranty is same as new: 1 year from purchase
Options:
- Seal upgrades (Split LER, Taconite, Protector®, and more)
- Bore modifications
- Machining for condition monitoring and temperature sensors
- Oil crossover/equalization passages
Applicable housings: ≥10” or 250mm shaft sizes.
